Client needs
The founder of PetDoctors365 wanted to make veterinary care accessible. To reduce long waiting times, remove geographical restrictions, language differences and the lack of centralized medical records. The platform had to provide direct communication between pet owners and veterinarians without intermediaries. It also had to support emergency care, track a complete history of consultations and appointments and comply with strict veterinary and data protection laws. Corporate partners from the travel and hospitality sectors requested a widget that could be embedded into their own PetDoctors365 service platforms. In addition, the solution was based on a global system of certification and verification of veterinars. Specialists from anywhere in the world go through a multi-step KYC process to upload their licenses, diplomas and professional experience, after which their profiles are displayed in a directory with ratings and real-time availability, so that pet owners are only ever connected with a trusted and verified expert.
Discovery phase
At the beginning of the development, we conducted a study of the needs of the main user groups such as pet owners, veterinarians and corporate partners. We found common difficulties with finding a specialist in a certain language, confusion about which services are covered by insurance and fragmentation of veterinary records in different systems.
Customer journey maps and business process models were created for each type of user. The team found that pet owners often had to switch between several services to make an appointment, upload files and make payments. Veterinarians were frustrated with inefficient scheduling systems and disparate medical records. Corporate partners asked for simple ways to offer pet care as a service. As a result of the Discovery Phase, we had clear scenarios formed:
– A pet owner wants a single action to select a veterinar by language and cost, then instantly pay and receive a consultation without leaving their app.
– The veterinar needs a single dashboard where they can check the pets profile, view their referral history and conduct video or text sessions without constantly switching between different systems.
– A partner expects a ready-made white label component that can be easily integrated via JavaScript widget or REST API, while maintaining full transparency of service consumption and automatic reporting on SLA and costs.

Result & Technical Implementation
PetDoctors365 was created as a telemedicine platform for veterinary services. The frontend was developed in Java with server-side rendering for fast performance and real-time multilingual adaptation. Redis was used to cache popular queries such as best vets or available slots, which reduces load times.
The backend was built in Java and had a REST API for full compatibility with external veterinary record systems. Payment was made through Stripe Elements with real-time balance updates and automatic invoice generation. The WebRTC technology provided real-time video consultations and a drag-and-drop file function that allowed users to send images of animals or lab results even over a weak connection.
For pet owners, we implemented a single client web and mobile portal. Side Rendering and Incremental Static Regeneration server for instant loading of pages with filters by language, specialty, price and nearest available slot. The user can drag and drop the report into a drag and drop area, the download runs in the background and progress is saved when the connection is disconnected. Payment history provided via Stripe Elements and webhooks that instantly update balances and generate e-checks.
Veterinarians had access to a private dashboard where they could manage their schedule. The system supported synchronous video sessions as well as asynchronous second opinions. We added the ability to choose the reception mode – live video chat via WebRTC or asynchronous “second opinion” with tabular review of feedback from multiple peers. On the server side, Java handles REST queries, and a Redis cache holds doctors availability data and popular filters, allowing the doctors dashboard to open in milliseconds. Doctors undergo KYC verification in a secure module, uploading licenses and documents. All data was protected in accordance with Swiss data protection and personal data laws, with encryption and role-based access control built in from the start.
Partners connect to the platform through REST integration. Branding, localization and billing model parameters are configured in the widget. For partners we have developed a separate back office with reports on service usage, SLA metrics and cost analytics, the design of which is adapted to corporate Guidelines.
Thanks to containerization in Docker and Kubernetes, our platform scales automatically as the load grows. For security and compliance with GDPR/DSGVO and Swiss law, we implemented end-to-end encryption, role-based access policies and regular pentests.
As a result, PetDoctors 365 has become a seamless ecosystem where every pet owner request, every consultation and every partner integration runs in a single, secure and high-performance flow.
Conclusion
PetDoctors365 has become a trusted remote veterinary care. It quickly and reliably connects pet owners with certified veterinarians, offers a secure work environment for doctors and provides corporate partners with a ready-to-integrate telemedicine solution. The platform successfully removes barriers to access to veterinary care and helps pets to receive the care they need, no matter where they are.
